The diversity of lifeforms around us is truly breathtaking, and the evolutionary processes underlying this diversity are just as astounding. Our research group Vanasiri* based at IISER Thiruvananthapuram (Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram) addresses a range of questions in evolutionary biology all of which seek to understand diversification both within and across species. We employ several study systems currently spanning plants, reptiles, butterflies and other insects.
